This infographic presents an overview of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools used in clinical settings.

Designed for healthcare providers, it organizes communication systems into three categories: unaided, low-tech, and high-tech. The format is optimized for rapid reference in real-world environments and available as a downloadable PDF.

Key design features were guided by principles from multimedia learning research (Clark & Mayer, 2024):

• Spatial contiguity: Related text and images are positioned together to reduce cognitive load.

• Signaling: Color and formatting highlight categories and key distinctions.

• Transfer: The layout encourages practical use by supporting recall and reference in clinical care.

The infographic was created in Canva using DM Sans font. It meets basic accessibility guidelines for screen contrast and clarity.
